For those who have not come across them before, an Email Discussion list is a forum in which anyone with an EMAIL address can take part. You “sign on” by sending an Email in a specified format to the “list server” address, after which you will automatically receive any correspondence sent to the list. If you wish, you can contribute items yourself. You can, at any time, “sign off” as easily as you signed on.
A list called APL-L has existed for some time, and includes discussion on all sorts of aspects of APL. I am grateful to Alain Delmotte for drawing my attention to a new list, which was created following a workshop at APL92. It is called APLEDU-L, and is specifically concerned with teaching APL.
To subscribe to either list, send a message to:
The message should have no name or subject, and the first and only line should read:
information about the list and instructions for signing off will be received automatically.
