British APL Association Meeting 14th February 1992

Alan Sykes gave a short update on the status of the ASL project at the BAA meeting on February 14th 1992. Alan brought some copies of the printed documentation for two volumes of software (Regression and Basic Graphics) and announced that order forms for this software would be distributed with the next issue of Vector. In the short term, Alan will be coordinating distribution from Swansea although ultimately the BAA Administration will take over this activity. Alan then covered the status of each of the first set of ASL volumes:

ASLGREG

The Regression and Generalised Linear Models volume is complete and ready for distribution. Versions are available for:

APL*PLUS
APL2/PC
APL.68000
Dyalog/PC

and Alan thanked all those who had helped in preparing the different versions of this volume. Alan maintained that it was a sheer coincidence that the first ASL volume ready for distribution was the one he had the greatest part in writing.

ASL Basic Graphics

The Basic Graphics volume, prepared by Tony O’Hagan, is available for Dyalog/PC. The version for APL*PLUS is nearing completion, but Alan Sykes asked the meeting (and also readers of Vector!) for assistance in preparing versions for APL2/PC and APL.68000.

ASLBSTAT

The third volume of the initial ASL set, Basic Statistics, is still not ready for distribution as the documentation is still being finalised.
