The Compulink Information eXchange (CIX) is the premier UK electronic bulletin board enabling a wide range of computer users, from IBM mainframers to the users of the tiniest home micros, to dial-in and exchange data, programs, leave mail and to have chats and discussions in real time. One of the primary attractions of CIX is the large number of conferences available, where people who share a particular interest can “meet” like minded folk, ask and answer questions and swap files.
A new addition to the conference list (which includes such special interests as home-brewing and anarchist politics!) is an APL conference. The conference APL.LANG has the following topics: ‘general’, ‘BAA’, ‘Vector’ and ‘WS’.
This conference could serve as an ideal forum to attract new people to the language, for novices to ask questions and for the British APL Association and Vector to issue announcements, meeting dates and APL news etc.
The ‘WS’ topic is also a good place for public domain and shareware APL interpreters and workspaces to be made available to the public.
To join CIX dial-in on 081-399 5252 (or if your modem supports V32, use 081-390 9787). Once you’ve dialled in, just follow the onscreen instructions to become a subscriber. Alternatively call the CIX voice-line on 081-390 8446 for details on costs etc.
See you all online ….
