Recent APL Product Announcements¶

Exchange of Business between Cocking and Drury and Mercia Software¶

As from January 1989, Mercia Software have tranferred all their existing APL*PLUS business to Cocking & Drury. Cocking and Drury have transferred their Statgraphics business to Mercia.

This exchange was undertaken to consolidate both organisations' positions in the respective marketplaces - Cocking and Drury preferring to concentrate efforts in the APL systems/consultancy/training sphere, and Mercia specialising in applications software for the Statistics, Maths and Operational Research community. As a result, both companies are now in a stronger position to market and support these two diverse STSC product lines.

Existing Mercia APL*PLUS customers can now obtain support, upgrades etc. direct from Cocking and Drury, and vice versa from Cocking and Drury Statgraphics customers.

Both companies will continue to supply and support their own large corporate accounts for both APL*PLUS and Statgraphics.

Statgraphics Version 3¶

Statgraphics v.3, written in APL, allows the user to analyse larger data sets without losing any flexibility in graphics, editing, or data manipulation capabilities. Users can now save graphics in the popular HPGL format to give them greater choice with output facilities.

Version 3 has also tackled the ideas of SPC and QC with more vigour, providing a new range of process capability charts and gauge repeatability and reproducibility analyses, along with the full range of quality control procedures already provided.
