Why don't YOU contribute to VECTOR?

VECTOR is produced by the editor, with the help of a working group; he shouldn't have to write it as well - not even with their help! Please write letters to the editor, and send them to Adrian Smith. Don't let us think there is nothing in VECTOR that you disagree with. Don't fail to let us know when you think we're doing it right. All the addresses you need are shown below!

Please write reports of anything newsworthy, or any forthcoming event that's worth previewing, and send them to Adrian Smith. Please let Cathy Dargue know of anything to go in the diary, e.g. an APL paper at a non-APL conference. Please send Anthony Camacho press cuttings about APL with source and date of publication on them. You would be doing the APL world good if you also wrote to the magazine or newspaper about it. They too like and print letters.

Please write general articles and send them to Adrian Smith. You may feel your code won't stand up to the scrutiny of the experts, but that shouldn't stop you from helping those who haven't reached your level. We need introductory material so that beginners find something of value to them in VECTOR.

Please send more technical articles to David Ziemann or Jonathan Barman. VECTOR wants to consolidate its position among the world's APL journals, so we need useful functions carefully explained to help APL professionals improve their performance.

We would also like to hear from people who are willing to review books and APL products. Val Lusmore gets material from all over the world; sometimes you get to keep the book or software, and you always get to keep the knowledge!

Have you an idea for a competition? Send it to Jonathan Barman or David Ziemann. Will you judge it? You are likely to see some very clever code if you do; marking a competition with a very large entry is a really good way of learning something new about APL.

This is your magazine! Help it to prosper!
