APL in Practice – Commercial Applications, 15th November 1985 (meeting introduction)

Introduction¶

Thanks go to Bern King for these notes. We have included his comments on Christine Brewster’s talk, although readers should note that there is a much fuller version of her paper in the next issue of VECTOR.

Apologies to Peter Evans & Simon Letchet (Kodak); their talk has not (as far as I know) been recorded for posterity, and all I can report is that at the end, there was a brief demonstration of Instagraphic, a customised camera which converts a display on a terminal into a slide in a couple of minutes. Cost £400 . . . . every home should have one!
