Dyadic Systems Ltd

Following the successful launch of Dyalog APL Version 8.2, Dyadic is pleased to announce the Dyalog APL Internet Software Publishing Initiative (APL/ISPI). This is a new Dyadic service for publishing applications written in Dyalog APL on the Internet.

APL/ISPI is based upon ActiveX technology, provided by Dyalog APL 8.2, that allows Dyalog APL applications to be packaged as ActiveX controls and downloaded and run in a web browser. APL/ISPI applications require a copy of DYALOG.DLL installed on the end-user's computer.

APL/ISPI applications will be hosted by a secure E-Commerce web server provided and run by Dyadic from their offices in Basingstoke, UK. End-users will purchase and download applications directly from this site or via links to it from other sites. End-users who do not already have DYALOG.DLL installed will receive it automatically as part of the download process. As a fully authorised Internet Software Publisher, Dyadic is able to deliver applications that are digitally signed and safe for scripting.

This service, which is effectively free for authors, offers Dyalog APL application developers a route to market and a distribution service for their software products. It will permit individuals and small companies to sell APL applications to a global customer base without the need for expensive advertising, production and distribution.

By openly publishing high-quality applications written in Dyalog APL, Dyadic intends to encourage the use of Dyalog APL for commercial applications and to attract new users to APL.

Dyadic believes that this initiative offers a tremendous commercial opportunity to APL developers. Please contact Dyadic for further details.
